Joe Frampton, Former Apprentice and now Support Technician of Voip Unlimited successfully passed his 18 month apprenticeship NVQ & Btech Level 3, in networking and telecommunications this month, prompting us to hunt for our next Apprentice. We worked with The Institute of Telecommunications Professionals (ITP) who find individuals passional about the industry, seeking education & employment in the market.
Our MD & Project Engineer worked closely with the candidates taking part in mock interviews, engineering tests and presentations. The purpose of the day is not only to offer the chance of support for the Apprenticeship and then potential employment, but also to help the candidates see a core internet and telephony services provider, meet the team who maintain the UK network and chat to influential professionals established within the evolving industry.
MD Mark Pillow: “Investing in next generation of Telecoms specialists is something we are passionate about here at Voip Unlimited, we have proudly supported staff through courses and doing what I think is the most powerful tool which is learning on the job and I am keen to continue to support making the transition between education and work as easy as possible.
Joe Frampton, former Apprentice & now Support Technician at Voip Unlimited said: “I was buzzing to get the apprenticeship at Voip Unlimited 18 months ago, it’s really hard to get placements in this industry let alone an established network and service provider directly. The last 18 months has gone so quick and the help from my colleagues has meant I have learned much quicker than I thought, it has massively enhanced the NVQ and Btech Level 3 qualification as I could put theory straight into practice, alongside established engineers & likeminded techies. Apprenticeship generally but in IT specifically is an avenue I would recommend to others, you will always find a job in this digital era and to learn on it means no unfamiliar circumstances when you put the qualification into practice.”
